Description:
St. Karen’s Secondary School celebrated Reading Week with great enthusiasm from 23rd to 26th June, highlighting the joy and importance of reading across all classes. For Classes 1 to 5, engaging activities like Echo Reading, Self Reading, Buddy Reading, a Sight Word Treasure Hunt, and storytelling sessions by Dr. Sita Mukhopadhyay brought stories to life and built early literacy skills. Students of Classes 6 to 12 participated in Reading Circles, Reader’s Theatre, Vocabulary Detective tasks, and reflective journal writing, encouraging deeper comprehension, vocabulary building, and critical thinking. The week aimed to foster a lifelong love for reading while enhancing students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities.
