On the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore's birthday, a poetry recitation event was organized at St. Karen's Secondary School on 8th May, 2024.The event aimed to celebrate the literary legacy of Tagore and promote the appreciation of poetry among the students
A total of 18 participants took part in the event, with two students representing each section of Std 10. The participants showcased their talent and enthusiasm for poetry through the recitation of Tagore's timeless verses.
The chosen poems for recitation were exclusively from the works of Rabindranath Tagore. This decision was made to horon the renowned poet and to expose the students to his rich literary repertoire. Tagore's poems, known for their depth of emotion and universal themes, provided an ideal platform for the students to connect with literature.
The poetry recitation event witnessed a display of remarkable talent and passion from the participants. Each student delivered their chosen poem with heartfelt expression, capturing the essence of Tagore's verses. The audience was treated to a diverse range of Tagore's masterpieces.
The winners of the competition were:
First Prize: Sampurna Shrivastava (10B)
Second Prize- Prakriti (10A)
Third Prize: Nikhil (10F)
