Seminar on career guidance was organised for the students of class 10 and 12 on 28 and 29 January 2021. Mr Manish Barriarr, a career counsellor, political activist and a quiz master was the resource person, accompanied by Ms Eheena Sharma.
At St. Karen’s Secondary School, Patna, we teach students the values that are valued forever. Students must be ensured about their career and profession which make them valuable. Mr. Manish Barriarr has added fuel to our mission by enlightening students about their priorities and strengths.
The two days seminar focused on the importance of education of class 10 and 12. The resource person said that the current period of education shapes the future of an individual. Thorough knowledge of all the school subjects is a must. He inspired the gathering, exhorting them to read. He believes that reading books could take one to everywhere.
Mr. Manish Barriarr shared many of his life’s stepping stones. He told students to believe in themselves and not to worry about other’s dreams and not to judge themselves for silly reasons. What makes the speaker a bold orator is social relationships. He wanted the crowd of students to come out of their cocoons and glitter. He also asked to have the desire to improve the society which could lead to a cool job satisfaction.
The resource person answered all the questions raised by students with brilliant examples. Some of the common asked questions were mainly based on family pressure, I. Q. skills, economic status, best career options, social environments, safe profession and many more. He ensured the students that our country is full of options and opportunities.
The resource person ended the seminar with a marvellous note: “Love the ones close to you and to be gentle and patient with them.”
