St. Karen’s Secondary School Hosted ‘Cyber Hygiene MUN 2025’

Organized under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Programme in Collaboration with CERT-In, MeitY, Government of India
The State-Level Cyber Hygiene Model United Nations (MUN) 2025 was conducted under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Programme – Phase III, implemented by C-DAC Hyderabad in collaboration with the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
The event was co-hosted by St. Karen’s Secondary School, Patna, and C-DAC Patna on 10–11 October 2025. It served as a dynamic platform for students to deliberate on key topics such as cybersecurity, digital ethics, online privacy, and global internet governance, fostering awareness and leadership among youth in the domain of cyber hygiene and responsible digital citizenship.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Marykutty Thomas, Principal, St. Karen’s Secondary School, who extended greetings to the distinguished guests and participating schools.
The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by Dr. Manavjit Singh Dhillon, IPS, Deputy Inspector General, Economic Offences Unit, Bihar Police, as the Chief Guest; and Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Kumar Puri, Executive Director, NIELIT Patna, as the Guest of Honour. The event also witnessed the presence of Mr. Abhay Kumar Prasad, Scientist ‘D’, CERT-In, and Mr. Saket Kumar Jha, Scientist ‘D’, C-DAC Patna. Senior officials from St. Karen’s Secondary School and C-DAC Patna were also present on the occasion.
The second day of the event was graced by Cdr. Vivek Kumar Yadav (Retd.), Scientist ‘E’, C-DAC Patna, as the Chief Guest, who appreciated the initiative for empowering students with knowledge and awareness about cybersecurity and digital responsibility.
The objective of Cyber Hygiene MUN 2025 was to engage students in policy-level discussions on crucial issues such as cybersecurity, data protection, and safe digital practices, thereby fostering cyber awareness, leadership qualities, and responsible online behavior among young learners.
Reflecting the spirit of the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2025, the initiative provided students from various schools across Bihar with an engaging platform to deliberate on emerging global cyber issues. It effectively bridged the gap between technology, governance, and policymaking, inspiring young minds to become proactive contributors to a secure and responsible digital future.
The event witnessed active participation from several premier educational institutions and was evaluated by experts from C-DAC Patna and CERT-In. Outstanding participants were recognized with awards for their exemplary performance. The National Finale of Cyber Hygiene MUN 2025 will be held in New Delhi.
